Profile: AMX Superstores Tuggerah

From a single Melbourne store in 2008 to Australia’s largest motorcycle accessories retailer, AMX has built a reputation for rider-focused service. The Tuggerah store brings that service to the NSW Central Coast. AMX Superstores Tuggerah opened its doors in March 2026 to provide local riders with one of the country’s biggest ranges of riding gear, accessories and motorcycle parts. Managed by Greg Heinrich and staffed by a team of six passionate riders, the store combines a huge product range with genuine real-world experience. We caught up with Greg to learn more about AMX, the team behind the store and why AMX Tuggerah has quickly become a destination for riders across the Central Coast.

Tell us about your role in the business?

I’m the Store Manager and was fortunate enough to be heavily involved with the store build and our grand opening earlier this year. I started with AMX at the Newcastle store in 2021 and have taken on more responsibility each year. It’s been a fantastic challenge and it’s incredibly rewarding.

Tell us about the history of AMX.

AMX Superstores began back in 2008 with just a single store in Melbourne and has grown steadily into Australia’s leading motorcycle accessories retailer, now with 48 stores nationwide. The Tuggerah store opened in March 2026 in response to strong demand from riders across the Central Coast for a dedicated motorcycle accessories superstore offering an enormous range of quality products under one roof.

What brands do you focus on?

We stock an extensive range of the biggest names in motorcycling including Shoei, HJC, Oakley, Fly Racing, Sidi, Dainese, Alpinestars, Fox, Dririder and many more. Alongside those well-established brands, we’ve also introduced newer names such as Havoc luggage and Argon leathers, giving riders access to premium-quality gear at more affordable price points. We really try to cater for every type of budget and every type of rider, whether they’re touring, commuting, racing or riding off-road.

What services do you offer?

We’re much more than simply a retail store. Our team spends time helping customers properly fit helmets, jackets and riding gear to ensure they leave with products that are comfortable, safe and suited to their needs. We also offer Shoei’s Personal Fitting System (PFS), which customises the internal fit of Shoei helmets based on each rider’s head shape. It improves comfort, stability and visibility while reducing pressure points, giving customers the best possible fit.

What do the staff ride and how often do you guys get out?

Being riders ourselves, there’s plenty of variety in the car park. I ride a Kawasaki ZX-10R and also have a BMW S 1000 RR track bike. Charlie rides a KTM 1290 Super Duke, Steve has a Yamaha MT-09, Bek rides a Yamaha YZF-R3, Jay owns a Yamaha YZ250F and Michael rides a Triumph Street Triple 675. Whenever we can, we get together for rides.

Tell us what is unique about this shop.

One of the biggest differences with AMX is convenience. Every AMX store is open seven days a week, making it easy for riders to shop when it suits them, while our online store is available 24 hours a day. More importantly, our team is made up entirely of riders who genuinely understand motorcycles and the products we sell. Customers aren’t just buying equipment; they’re getting advice from people who share the same passion.

What is the long-term plan for the future?

Our goal is simply to continue providing great service and the best range of motorcycle gear to riders across Australia. We want to keep building relationships with local riding communities, supporting local clubs and events, and helping more people enjoy motorcycling safely. If we can continue growing the sport while delivering great customer service every day, we’ll consider that a success.
